JD and Michele serve as the directors of Common Well. JD is our primary networker with churches and local agencies, while Michele offers clinical supervision to our team of interns. Both JD and Michele lead conferences and retreats for churches, non-profit organizations and businesses on a variety of topics including marriage, parenting, leadership development, soul care and many other areas of interest.

Helping churches:  We love to see churches prioritize soul care and  the mental health and emotional wellbeing of their people. Part of what Common Well offers is help for churches who are developing or improving  their ministries of care and counseling in order serve not only their church members, but also their local communities. This is done primarily through training and equipping of volunteers as well as providing consultation to ministry leadership on the development and maintenance of these ministries.

Clinical Care: We love to see barriers removed to increase access to soul care and mental health care for all people. Common Well has a team of pre-licensed graduate interns who are able to offer quality care at affordable prices. Each of these interns is currently completing a graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and has been vetted by Common Well for both their character and their competence. Through the work of these interns, we are able to offer individual, couples and family sessions for between $35 and $85 per session; a much more affordable option than average California costs for therapy. Our interns are able to offer both in-person and virtual sessions, depending on the individual needs of the client(s).

For Our Global Partners: We are able to provide a variety of services to help strengthen and support kingdom advancement. Our team is able to offer equipping and coaching in church planting, missions and other forms of gospel-centered initiatives, as well as personal coaching, team coaching and spiritual direction. Similarly to the work we do with US-based churches, we are also equipped to train and help develop systems and ministries of care for staff teams, local communities and others, using our curriculum, called Healthy and Holy ©️written by our in-house licensed mental health practitioner.

Common Well exists to resource and provide mental health and soul care to marginalized  and under-resourced communities. We exist for two primary purposes:
